I am responsible for the high resolution model of goblin, spear model/design, UVs, sculpting, textures, materials, fur, and lighting.
A while ago I bought a set of goblin models to practice some different texturing techniques on. The first one I used the model as is and textured in a stylized hand painted look that you can see here: https://www.artstation.com/artwork/YBmmrV
With this one I decided take it from a game ready model to a feature animation quality character. I went in and remodeled everything to be in quads and worked to make it a more feature animation standard with the model consisting of separate parts and materials instead of the single mesh of the original model. After that I took it into Zbrush to sculpt the fine detail and then proceeded into Substance Painter where I worked to build a cohesive and realistic look with a mix of PBR based materials and hand painting a realistic skin from scratch. I then took all that work and combined it in Maya using Arnold to build the shaders and lighting. To add a extra level of detail I decided to add fur and hair to the clothing and skin using Xgen in Maya. After this I decided that for the pose that he needed to be holding something, so I designed and modeled a crude spear for him to be holding. The original low poly game ready model is from a company called Arcade Studios.
