Unreal 5 render detail spin
For this project I really wanted to work on some different materials in Unreal. The first element that I wanted to go after was a refined hand painted texture. Next I really wanted to play around a fake depth in a material with a crystal or ice material. Lastly I have fallen in love with the visual stye of Marvel Rivals and I wanted to attempt to replicate that comic book/cell shaded style that they have perfected. I found a concept by Elodie Mondoloni that met all the criteria of the scope of this project that I wanted to tackle. I was able to achieve the depth by using parallax occlusion in conjunction with my hand painted texture. As for the cell shading and black lines, I was able to achieve these through a few post process materials within Unreal.
